Solder Cup Connectors and Terminal Pins
Mill-Max Mfg., Corp., is proud to present new solder cup products delivering the most versatile array of solutions for your wire termination needs. Across our product line, there are new options to choose from in connectors and discrete terminals suitable for a variety of spacing, height and orientation requirements. Solder cup components simplify the task of making wired connections between PCB’s or devices and PCB’s. They provide an appliance designed to accept and hold wires in place, eliminating the frustration of trying to manipulate them while performing the soldering operation.
The solder cup also allows the solder to pool and form around the wire leading to better solder joints and more reliable, robust connections. Mill-Max has developed new manufacturing techniques and equipment to produce solder cup features for 2mm and .050” pitch connectors, right angle and low-profile interconnects and integrated into fine pitch spring-loaded connectors. Mill-Max has a wide range of products with solder cup features including discrete receptacles, terminal pins and spring-loaded pins as well as standard .100” pitch headers, sockets and spring-loaded connectors.
Solder Cup ReceptaclesReceptacles combining Mill-Max’s high reliability contact clip technology with a solder cup feature offer the convenience of interconnecting wires with leaded components. The solder cup supports efficient soldering of wires, creating a secure connection, while the contact end allows a pin or lead to engage and disengage repeatedly and consistently. These receptacles present an appealing solution for use in cable connectors and wire to board applications.
Solder Cup Terminal PinsPrecision machined brass pins, designed with a solder cup feature, provide an efficient means for transforming wires into functional interconnect components. These pins are commonly paired with Mill-Max receptacles to create reliable, pluggable connections to other wires and cables or to PCB’s. In wire to board applications, customers find these products useful for simplifying the connection process and providing a more robust connection than soldering wires directly to a PCB, especially when working with fine gauge wires.
Spring-Loaded Contacts with Solder CupsSpring-Loaded pins with an integrated solder cup offer a unique combination of interconnect options, such as battery leads soldered to spring pins mounted in a docking/charging station. The solder cup feature enables efficient attachment of wires while the spring-loaded plunger is the proper interface for mating to devices with pads or lands. Several of the spring-loaded pins include a press-fit feature for convenient mounting in assembly housings or boards.
NEW! .050" Pitch Solder Cup Pin and Socket InterconnectsA family of connectors offering wire termination solutions with a space saving .050” (1,27mm) pitch footprint. These connectors incorporate high temperature insulators and uniformly oriented solder cup pins and receptacles for ease of soldering. Both headers and sockets may be mated with a variety of Mill-Max .050” (1,27mm) pitch connectors, allowing a user to mix and match termination styles to overcome diverse interconnect challenges. Vertical mount styles are offered in single and double row. Right angle versions, available in single row only, are optimal for applications requiring parallel connections to the board or for minimizing the above-board height of components.
NEW! 2mm Pitch Solder Cup Pin and Socket InterconnectsA family of connectors offering wire termination solutions spaced on a .0787” (2mm) pitch footprint, ideal for use with traditional metric PCBs or devices. These connectors incorporate high temperature insulators and uniformly oriented solder cup pins and receptacles for ease of soldering. Both headers and sockets may be mated with a variety of Mill-Max .0787” (2mm) pitch connectors, allowing a user to mix and match termination styles to overcome diverse interconnect challenges. Vertical mount styles are offered in single and double row. Right angle versions, available in single row only, are optimal for applications requiring parallel connections to the board or for minimizing the above-board height of components.
.100" Pitch Solder Cup Pin and Socket InterconnectsSolder cup terminal pins and receptacles assembled into insulators on .100” pitch (2,54mm) are available in a variety of options including low profile, right-angle and higher current versions. All styles have uniformly aligned solder cups to facilitate efficient soldering and most series are offered in single and double row configurations.
NEW! Solder Cup Termination Spring-Loaded Headers and TargetsSolder cup termination spring pins and mating target pins assembled into high temperature insulated housings. Supplied in a wide assortment of footprint options ranging from .050” (1,27mm) to .1575” (4mm) pitch. Offered in many unique vertical mounting styles including extended travel and rugged high-power offerings. Both the spring-loaded headers and target connectors have uniformly aligned solder cups to facilitate efficient soldering and are offered in either single or double row configurations. |
